The PNG NRLC is delighted to see 5 more coaches work through their NRL Level 2 Senior Club Coach accreditation.

The 2023 Head Coaches, Billy Gau (Enga Mioks), Charlie Wabo (Goroka Lahanis), Francis Ray (ENB Gurias), Noel Zeming (Lae Tigers) and Steve Gunua (Central Dabaris) have flown to Brisbane, to undergo their course as a part of the PNGRFL’s 2023 Senior Coach Program.

Joe Grima, PNGRFL’s Coaching Development Manager shared, “I’ll be accompanied by the most talented and promising PNG coaches. Five coaches will finish the level two senior club coach course offered by the NRL. There are only four qualified senior club coaches in PNG. A more comprehensive approach to PNG coaching will be ensured by five more, and this number will increase again the following year.”

“Along with the five coaches who have already arrived, I will be bringing two additional coaches to work with the Burleigh Bears, Redcliffe Dolphins, Gold Coast Titans, and staff at Marsden State High School.”

All this has been made possible through the support of the PacificAus Sports Programs, QRL and PNGRFL partnership that has seen the roll out of its High Performance Plan.

We wish the gentlemen all the best during their weeklong program and look forward to seeing their learnings implemented in their respective clubs.
