National Rugby League Competition
The Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition (or the PNGNRL for short, for sponsorship reasons the PNGNRL Digicel Cup) is a semi-professional rugby league competition held annually in Papua New Guinea. Formerly known as the SP Inter-City Cup or SP Cup (1990–2008) and later the Bemobile Cup (2009–2010) after changes in sponsorship. The current competition is sponsored by pacific telecommunications giant Digicel and is now known as the Digicel Cup.

A super Saturday of rugby league will kick off the 2024 Digicel ExxonMobil Cup competition on April 13th with five matches across the country as we enter a new era focusing on a “Faster, Fairer, and Futuristic” game for our fans to enjoy.
The Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition (PNGNRLC) has been working closely with the ENB Agmark Gurias and subsequently a joint decision has been made to relocate the franchise to Port Moresby for the opening period of the 2024 Digicel ExxonMobil Cup season.
As part of preseason training for our Digicel ExxonMobil Cup referees, they adjudicate during oppose sessions for the PNG Hunters.
