Welcome to the premier domestic rugby league competition in Papua New Guinea, the National Rugby League Competition (NRLC). The competition is exclusively sponsored under two naming right sponsors, Digicel PNG and ExxonMobil PNG and is called the Digicel-ExxonMobil Cup. The PNG National Rugby League (PNGNRL) is a legal entity, registered under the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) who’s primary responsibility is planning, managing and facilitating game day operations for the competition.
The strategic vision of the PNGRFL for 2030 is to be ranked in the top 5 rugby league nations in the world. To support this vision the PNGRFL needs a strong and competitive NRLC that plays a key role in developing and showcasing PNG’s developing and established male and female rugby league talent. The NRLC has 12 established male teams/clubs from across PNG, with plans to establish a female NRLC, an U19 male NRLC and an U19 female NRLC.
